Care and Handling

After a day, your arrangement may seem a bit larger - french tulips continue to grow for about a day after they?re placed in water. After a day, your arrangement may seem a bit larger - tulips continue to grow for about a day after they are placed in water.
If french tulip stems are slightly bowed, trim stem tips and roll the tulips in newspaper with the paper extending above the flower tops, but not covering the lower third of the stems. Place them upright in water with a source of light directly aboveIf you do not add floral preservative, change the water and re-cut the stems every day or so.
If you purchased your tulips ahead of time for a special event, cut the stems and place them in water (and floral preservative if you choose)Keep in cool location out of direct sunlight.
Place french tulips in a spot with even light, or rotate frequently as tulips will turn to face the sunPlace your tulips in an area away from direct sunlight until ready for your event. We also recommend cooler temperatures and high relative humidity if possible.
Replenish water as needed and enjoy!Tulips are ethylene sensitive (which comes from fresh vegetables and fruits, especially bananas) which makes them open faster, but also age faster. Ventilate well and avoid storing with fruits and vegetables.
Tulips can be stored dry at 2 degrees celsius for up to a week before re hydrating.

Grades

"Dutch" type tulips are usually 30 to 60 cm. "French" type tulips are usually 50 to 70 cm.
Graded by stem length , sleeved and bunched by 10 stems.

Packing

Should be shipped with blooms just starting to show colour but still partially "green".

Preparation

Place into clean water filled vase, leaving TULIPS in sleeve for 4 hours, then remove sleeve.Remove all foliage below the water line and place in a clean container filled with cool water and, optionally, floral preservative.
Trim stem ends while TULIPS are still in sleeve to create fresh surface to absorb water.Tulips should be rehydrated with the sleeves on too keep stems straight.
