  • As the bracts open up, the lower bracts curl down giving the appearance of flower petals.
  • Most people think of the pink bracts as the bloom, but the true flower are small yellow flowers that eventually poke out of the bracts as they age.
  • Pink Torch Ginger, produces dramatic flowers on glossy pink bracts on very long stems (3 to 4 feet).

Care and Handling

Gingers like humidity and occasional misting is recommended. Gingers, like all tropicals , should not be exposed to temperatures below 15 degrees celsius or they will show signs of blackening.

Grades

Ginger Large 100 cm stem 19 to 23 cm bloom. Ginger Medium 90 cm stem 15 to 18 cm bloom.
Ginger Small 80 cm stem 12 to 14 cm bloom. Gingers are graded by stem length and bloom size.

Packing

Gingers being shipped to North America should be packed in insulated boxes during the winter months.
